When Microsoft was preparing their XNA initiative in 2004, they asked several developers to create a demo using their XNA tools. Pseudo Interactive won a contract, and the result was the XNA Crash Demo, which later evolved into Full Auto.

My role for the Crash Demo was mainly in environment texturing and lighting, although I also created a JavaScript for PhotoShop to aid in the generation of normal maps (which at the time was still New and Exciting). The tool takes a selection and creates a heightmap from it with a perfectly beveled edge. You can see its results on nearly every surface in the environment. I still use it on occasion.
That year at GDC I gave a talk on creating art for the demo.
